• Born in Chile, Cristián Correa studied Agronomy at the Catholic University in Santiago where he received his degree in 2000. That same year he earned his title as Winemaker.
• Cristián joined MontGras in 2002
• He worked as MontGras Winemaker in charge of Merlot, Carmenère and Sauvignon Blanc wines, next to the Chief Winemaker, Santiago Margozzini
• In 2003, he had the opportunity to work as Assistant Winemaker at the Paul Hobbs Wines, with Paul Hobbs, in Sebastopol, California.
• In 2003, he worked as Assistant Winemaker of Poggio al Tesoro Vintage in Toscana, Italy.
• In 2006, Cristián was named Winemaker of MontGras’ new Intriga winery after proving his ability and style.
• At Intriga, he is responsible for caring and making all the viticultural decisions for the 180 hectare (467 acre) Estate and is dedicated to producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from the world famous Maipo Valley.
• Cristián has successfully developed Intriga and Intriga Maxima – a round, concentrated, daring, well-balanced, and full-bodied ultra premium Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks of the unsurpassable quality of Alto Maipo’s distinct terroir, which makes it the best valley in Chile for this variety due to its deep alluvial soils.
• MontGras’ maiden vintage of Intriga Maxima (2012) received its highest Wine Specator rating of 93 Pts. in the May, 2016 edition.
• Cristián led important tastings both in Chile and abroad for visitors, importers, distributors, and press, impressing many with his unpretentious and direct manner in which he presents his wines.
